Frequently asked questions

Do I have to come to Serbia to register a company?

No. We prepare the documents and translations, you sign a power of attorney at a notary in your country and send the originals by courier. We register the company in Belgrade on your behalf, usually within 5 working days of receiving the documents.

Can a non-resident open a bank account in Serbia?

Yes. Foreign individuals and foreign companies can open non-resident accounts in Serbian banks. Most banks ask for one short in-person visit; we prepare a complete file, book the appointment and come with you. The final decision is always the bank's.

Is Serbia part of CRS?

According to the OECD's status of commitments (December 2025), Serbia has not yet set a date for its first automatic exchanges under the Common Reporting Standard. Serbia does exchange information with the US under FATCA and with treaty partners on request. Rules can change, so we confirm the current position for your case.

How do I become a Serbian tax resident?

Under Serbian law you are tax resident if you live in Serbia, if your centre of business and vital interests is in Serbia, or if you spend 183 days or more in Serbia within any 12-month period. The usual route is company, Visa D, residence permit, and then a tax residence certificate.

Do I need an office for my Serbian company?

No. A company needs a registered address, which our virtual office provides in Belgrade, including handling of official mail.

How long does the whole process take?

Company registration takes about 5 working days after we receive your documents. Visa D usually takes 30–45 days and the residence permit another 30–45 days.
